Xmas

Well we have survived the first 3 of 4. I haven't gotten in yoga or a workout in days though. I am going to do some planning for 2015 though.  Set goals and then check in to see if I'm meeting them! Simple goals and big goals! Life and business goals!
2014 has been a year full of blessings, many of which I have to work really hard to find through the muck in my head. 2014 has been really hard and sad. I'm determined to make 2015 a good year. No, a great year! I'm working on savorinf the pleasure in things, because my cynical self can just pass right by the joys. Retraining my brain! So you can help by pointing out the lovely things! Beautiful sunset, really good coffee, kids being kids. You know, the good stuff.
Thank you to everyone for your support in 2014!

Thank you to everyone for your generosity this holiday season. As stressed out as I get, I have enjoyed getting to spend time with all!

Dec 17

I'm sick :(  Z was sick :(   full of goo.  Yuck!

I have been in bed a lot in the last few days.  Naps have been taken 3 days in a row!  Grateful for help and babysitters.  Grateful Z is feeling better, and sleeping better.  Doing little bits of yoga here and there.  Can't do anything upside down or I feel like my head is going to explode.

So sad and full of goo :(

sick baby, reading.

Dec 15

I got to the gym today!  As usual, it felt great.

Progress!  We have walls!  We went out this weekend to go take a look!  So freakin cool!

happy family!

ugg... formatting pictures on webpages is tricky...
can you find ZOG?
Nutshell!

Christmas time!
We went to go see Nutshell at Silvio's on Friday.  Paige watched ZOG, so we got to go out on a date!  The pizza was amazing, and the entertainment was great!

Packages are arriving all the time!  Christmas is coming! and frankly, I find it way more stressful than fun, but I'm trying to stay positive!  There is a lot less shopping that we have to do this year, so that's cool!

Dec 12

Before
After!  So yummy!!

I made really really good soup!  Inspired by soup that was brought to me when I was newly postpartum.  I have been craving this sausage and kale soup ever since.  I wasn't quite the same, but it was delicious!

Z and I being silly!  He's so much fun!  Super silly and has a great sense of humor.  He can pick up a sign a day, and conversation is getting easier.  He is also opinionated, and into testing limits right now.  There have been more than a few all out tantrums over things like - Being Offered A Banana, and Not Being Allowed to Crawl Forward Down the Stairs.
I've been much better at exercise over the past 2 weeks, I have done 30-60 minutes of of yoga at least every other day.  The gym has been eluding me, but I'll get there soon!  I will!

Volleyball is over for now, so my Thursday nights are free again.

I did a December yoga challenge, hence the numbers over the poses.  I'm seeing progress in so many of my poses.  It's pretty neat to watch the progress.

I also got to attend my first birth back as Sacred Roots Services this weekend.  While I attended several births this year, they were either as SEM, or as repeat clients.

It was a long birth, but it was so wonderful to back in that supporting role as a new family emerged!  So Great!

Well hello!

Alright, had a little relapse in my brain training... Going to get back on the horse here though. If you're subscribed, let me know, and I'll take you off the mailing list.
I'm making plans, getting out of the house, and taking my supplements.  My depression has resurfaced in a big way before thanksgiving, so I'm climbing out of a little (big) hole right now. Trying to stay busy.
What a feast!
Playing with Brio Trains at my aunts house
Hands-On Museum!  Z Loved it!
Painting and Wine with the sister!
It was a lot of fun, especially since
we didn't listen to most of the directions :-P
Finished Product
I am going to be better at this again!

Oct 15

It's been awhile. It's been a busy weekend/week. R, Z, and I got home last night from a last minute trip to San Antonio. R had a conference, so we tagged along to see family.
Saturday we walked at least 3 miles around Austin, a pretty cool city.  We were hoping we could get some tickets to the Austin City Limits Music Festival, though that was fairly naive. Tickets we're selling in the street for $230 apiece, for one day! Not quite in the budget... That was a little disappointing, but while it's advertised as a family event, I don't think Z would have had any fun, and it was SO loud.

Sunday we had breakfast with my grandparents, visited sea world, and had a really nice family dinner with my aunt, uncle, and 3 of my many cousins at grammas house. She made all the food! Roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, broccoli, candied sweet potatoes, rolls, salad, apple sauce, and apple pie!  It was nice to see everyone, but I really have to work hard to make small talk with my cousins that I don't know very well. Luckily they all see each other all the time and we're able to carry conversation without me chiming in too much. Z was pretty entertaining too of course.
Penguins!

Sea World was pretty neat, the park was almost empty, it was great! We were on the same page most if the day so there were few tense moments, which is progress. R and I we're able to ale turns going on the 2 rollercoasters they have. We were able to just walk on each time, no line! We went and watched 2 of the shows, one was all about the orcas, which was pretty neat, and then another which was a play on cirque du soleil, just in the water and with baluga whales and dolphins. Z loved it! He barely slept all day, so we all got a great nights sleep that night.
Ignore the guy in the background...

Monday, R had to go to work, so we were on our own. Z made up for lost sleep by taking 2, 2-hour naps! During the first one, I did a whole hour of self-directed yoga, there were lots of planks involved. My sides still hurt. After his nap, we met up with my family again and ate a good lunch at a local brewery, and then my little cousin Anna, Z, and I swam at the hotel pool while everyone else got some sun. We said our good byes and I went to go pick up R.

Tuesday was a nutzo day, I packed during Z's nap and we checked out of the hotel 3.5 hours before having to pick R up from work. There are no playgrounds! I googled, mapped, looked on any San Antonio website I could find, and all I could find we're play places. That you have to pay for to go inside :-( that makes me sad. I just wanted a small jungle gym and a swing and maybe a slide. It was a beautiful day, 80° and sunny. No playgrounds! While I was searching, Z fell asleep again, so I just sat in the car and read.

Flight home was fine, though since Z napped late, he didn't want to sleep on the plane for awhile. Lots of people in confined spaces makes me edgy, and having a one-year-old who just wants to run around makes me even more tense. I have to work really hard to not flip out and be completey overwhelmed. I just try to remember that expecting a toddler to sit still for 3 hours is kind of an insane thing to ask, and from that perspective, he did great!

We're home now!
